On May 27th, 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) changed its policy surrounding hemp-derived products. Previously, these products were not allowed through TSA security.
Now as of May 27th, 2019, according to the TSA’s official regulations website, “Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2019”. This means that hemp-derived products approved under the 2019 Farm Bill as it is more commonly known, are allowed through TSA security, along with other FDA approved products containing CBD.
